Turmeric and Ghee BALM to Naturally Treat Mouth Ulcers in Summer

This post may sound a little off the topic to you all in regard to this blog, but I felt of sharing this age old grandma’s recipe with you to naturally treat Mouth Ulcers. I don’t know, what is the relationship between summers and mouth ulcers, but many people complain of getting them especially in summers. Are you one of them? If so, this is for you. As summer is already here, we need to be extra cautious of our body and watch out any signs of inflammation like ulcers.

I use to get them too during my childhood days, but not now. Back then, My grandma use to mix just these 2 simple ingredients and apply to my lower Lip area where the ulcer has popped up.

Trust me, it shows effect from day 1 itself and the ulcer use to cure upto 90% by day 4.

Turmeric is an Indian spice which has anti bacterial and anti inflammatory properties. If you want one single remedy that can effectively whiten your teeth and improve overall oral health, free from cavities, then turmeric is your answer.

How to make Turmeric and Ghee Salve to naturally treat Mouth Ulcers

Ingredients:

1. Home made Ghee

2. Organic Turmeric powder

3. Mini reusable container (Lip balm jars)

Recipe:

Take 2 Tablespoons of Home made Ghee and warm it using a double boiler. After the Ghee is clear as oil and there are no more hard chunks in it, add a teaspoon of Organic Turmeric powder and stir it well.

Let the turmeric powder infuse in the ghee for at least 15-20 minutes, transfer the ingredients into a small lip balm container and let it cool down to room temperature.

You can store this jar in your refrigerator for a month and use it to naturally treat mouth ulcers that are caused especially in hot summers.

To use, take a pea sized amount of this balm using a small spoon and then apply to your mouth ulcer. If the ulcer is inside inside you inner cheek area or lower lip/upper lip areas, apply this balm just before going bed and do not drink or eat anything after applying this.

Wash your mouth with just normal water the next morning before you proceed with your daily brushing and flossing routines. Try to avoid any sulpahtes filled toothpastes and use only safe and natural tooth pastes. I recommend Viccco turmeric tooth paste.

What causes Mouth Ulcers?

Prevention is better than cure always. So, take extra care and know what may trigger inflammation in your body that in turn causes mouth ulcers in most of the cases.

There is no definite cause behind mouth ulcers. However, certain factors and triggers have been identified. These include:

  • minor mouth injury from dental work, hard brushing, sports injury, or accidental bite
  • toothpastes and mouth rinses that contain sodium lauryl sulfates
  • food sensitivities to acidic foods like strawberries, citrus, and pineapples, and other trigger foods like chocolate and coffee
  • lack of essential vitamins, especially B-12, zinc, folate, and iron
  • allergic response to mouth bacteria
  • dental braces
  • hormonal changes during menstruation
  • emotional stress or lack of sleep
  • bacterial, viral, or fungal infections
