The Body Shop TEA TREE Night Lotion REVIEW
Let’s start with the packaging…
As you can see, the packaging is done in a long cylindrical type of bottle with a well fixed pump mouth to get the lotion out in your hands. The bottle is dark green in color and the cap is in black.
I like this pump kinda packaging, it is super hygienic and the right amount of product comes out with a single press. It is definitely a travel friendly one.
I don’t know why n most of The body shop’s products, the ingredients are never listed. Not even the key ingredients. I hate this.
But no probs, I have found them on their official website and here they are for you,
Aqua (Solvent/Diluent), Propanediol (Viscosity Modifier), Glycerin (Humectant), Aluminum Starch Octenylsuccinate (Absorbent/Anticaking Agent), Calophyllum Inophyllum Seed Oil (Skin Conditioning Agent), Silica (Absorbent), Acrylamide/Ammonium Acrylate Copolymer (Binder), Caprylyl Glycol (Skin Conditioning Agent), Ethylhexyl Palmitate (Skin Conditioning Agent), Melaleuca Alternifolia Leaf Oil (Natural Additive), Polyisobutene (Binder), Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride (Emollient), Titanium Dioxide (Sunscreen), Phytosphingosine (Skin Conditioning Agent), Polysorbate 20 (Emulsifier), Sorbitan Isostearate (Emulsifier), Limonene (Natural Additive), Citral (Natural Additive), Leptospermum Petersonii Oil (Natural Additive), Tocopherol (Antioxidant)

Although there was nothing described as such expect stating the fact that it is specially for blemished skin. I found this on theie website. A detailed description of The Body Shop TEA TREE Night Lotion and its uses are,

The Body Shop TEA TREE Night Lotion REVIEW
These are my views about The Body Shop TEA TREE Night Lotion. Its gonna be 3 months since I have started using this and now here goes my review for you all.
What’s my opinion??
My Skin Type: Oily and acne prone :/
Coming to the color and consistency of this lotion, it has a light off white color with a creamy consistency that is not at all heavy or greasy on the skin. It smells like Tea Tree essential oil or to describe it in more particular, it smells like The body shop Tea Tree body wash or The Body shop Tea Tree face wash. A Herb-y smell in total that is neither over powering nor lingers on your skin after a couple of minutes. It gets easily absorbed on your skin after application. No oiliness or greasiness. A dime amount is really enough to cover your entire face.
And now, the effectiveness of the product.. The first thing I absorbed was, My face looks less oily in the mornings after I wake up. Usually my face is very shiny and oily in the mornings, thank god to this for controlling excess oil.
The second thing, I have this habit of applying a dime size amount of what ever product I use n the pimple which is just ready to emerge. And so I did the same with this too, Though it completely did not diminish the size of the pimple at just one go just like my peppermint essential oil overnight remedy for pimples , it did control it from erupting at the first place. So *yay* 🙂
And the same with my dark spots to, as a spot treatment it is working very well for me. It did lighten away few spots on my face. and I guess prolonged use might help my skin to heal more.
I am OK for
- A good night moisturizer, that doesn’t make the skin oily unlike other creme based lotions
- Controls acne breakouts and diminishes the pimple when used as a spot treatment.
- Fades away light spots on face but not completely eliminates them. May be prolonged use may give more better benefits.
- The goodness of Tea tree, a blessing for your skin to treat acne.
- Hydrates the skin the whole night and controls the excess oil production. *My skin looks super oily and shiny in the mornings after I wake up*
- Travel friendly
I am NOT OK for
- Pricey for such a small quanity
- Available in only online or body shop stores in Malls.
- It is better to mention the ingredients on the label of the product instead of mentioning in their website. This is my personal feeling though, as I always buy based on what’s in the product rather than how the product benefits me.
One Last Line
A very good night moisturizer to invest in, specially if you are dealing with acne and scars.
I am definitely going to re-buy it or at least until my skin heals and I no longer need to use.
