How to Prepare Jatamansi Hair Oil for hair fall and premature graying – Effortless way

I will show you the simple way to prepare this Jatamansi hair oil at you home. All you need is few dried pieces of Jatamansi and a base oil like Cold Pressed sesame oil or virgin coconut oil.

-Dried Jatamansi roots
-Sesame oil/Virgin coconut oil

–>Once you are ready with all the ingredients, take a small airtight glass jar and fill half of the jar with some dried pieces of Jatamansi root into it.

–>Now, pour any base oil of your choice into the jar till the Jatamansi in the jar is fully covered and immersed in the oil and the oil is an inch above the level of the herbs (make sure to leave at least an inch at the top of the jar so that herbs can expand). You can choose sesame oil if you have extremely dry scalp or any scalp problems like dandruff or else you can use cold pressed coconut oil if you have normal scalp.

–>Close the jar tightly with the lid and place it under sun shade for 4-6 hours daily for 1 week (in summers). You can place this jar in your balcony where the sun rays are maximum during the noon (around 12) and bring it back to your room (around 5). You can shake it just once during this period of placing it under the sun shade for 4-6 hours. Do not shake it vigorously, just one/two upside downs is enough.

–>After the end of the week, you will be left with sun charged/infused Jatamansi hair oil for hair fall and premature graying is now ready to be used for your scalp.

—>When you are ready to use the oil, strain through a cheesecloth or fine mesh strainer to remove the herbs. I only strain as much as I need and leave the rest of the oil with the herbs until ready to use.

Why only solar infusion method is better for preparing hair oils with dried herbs?

Sun is the ultimate source of energy and by solar infusing your oils, the benefits are doubled. The healing science of the sun in ayurveda explains clearly how Sunrays have unique healing power and are even beneficial to treat skin disorders, such as psoriasis, acne, and eczema. The light of the sun penetrates deep into the skin to cleanse the blood vessels. Sunlight is a vital nutrient which gives us energy and disinfects our skin and hair from harmful germs.

So, always prefer to solar infuse your herbal oils rather than the usual  double-boiler method.

Yes, it requires time and patience to prepare the herbal infusion this way, but its worth it. You will see the difference by yourselves. 🙂

It is better to do solar infusions in summers but if you are excited to try it in any other seasons, then watch out for rains or fog during winters, it may create mold if contacted with even a drop of water.
