How to Use Oats for face | “3 Step Routine for Clear skin”

Oats is not only a super food for your body, but also for your skin. It is one such multitude ingredient in skin care which can be used as a cleanser, face mask to removes tan and lighten skin tone  and also as an exfoliating scrub. Today, I will show your three such ways n How to use Oats for face and body to get clear skin you ever wanted.

 

3- Step Routine on How to Use Oats for face

Though You need not follow all the three steps once at a time, you can use these steps interchangeably with you other routines as well. Follow this routine for 2-3 times per month to get soft, supple and clear skin.

 

Step-1: Cleanse.

Ever since I started using Oats for my skin, My skin started to regain its moisture and felt less oily and dull as compared to my other days.

Oats have natural saponin content (that greasy lubricant kind texture) which makes an excellent choice to wash your face with it.

Oats are once such grain that can be used by all skin types. It doesn’t dry, strip away the natural oil or inst overpowering. So it makes a perfect ingredient for dry, oily and sensitive skin respectively.

If you have already used any of the sap free cleanser like Kama Ayurveda Mridul Face Cleasner, then this is no a new subject to you.

How to wash your face with Oats

Oats are naturally heavy and a little big, so they cannot be directly used on your skin. To make it easy, Take one full cup of rolled oats and blend them into fine powder.

Store the powder in an air tight container. You can store this powder up to 6 months until there is no water contact to it.

How to Use Oats for face

Now, take a tablespoon of Powdered Oats into a bowl or into your hand.

Add Rose water or normal water to the Oats and mix them well to form a paste.

Apply this paste all over your face and gently massage  as if you are washing your face.

Be gentle and smooth.

After two minutes, wash off with normal cold water and pat dry.

 

Step 2: Mask.

One of the best skin lightening treatment in summers is with Oats. Skin lightening with oats has been tried and tested my many. This simple home remedy has not just one benefit, it can treat sun damage, tan, dark spots, blemishes acne and many more skin issues.

Oats have natural anti oxidant and moisturizing abilities that only help lighten your skin but also improves skin tone and removes tan.

All you need..

Oatmeal powder
Organic Turmeric Powder
Rose Water

>Take a clean bowl and add one full tablespoon of Oatmeal powder.

>Next, add a pinch of Organic (no artificial color or pesticides used) Turmeric powder to the Oats.

>Now by adding few drops of Rose water, mix the mixture well till it forms a nice paste as shown below.

Substitute: If you do not have rose water, You can use lemon water (for oily skin) and fresh Milk (for dry skin).

>Cleanse your face thoroughly and pat dry with a cotton towel.  Do not wipe off the water from your face completely with the towel. Let your face be half wet.

>Now, apply the paste all over your face and neck (front and back). “Don’t neglect your neck” 😛

>Let it air dry for 20 minutes. Next, Wet your face with cold water and slightly scrub your face in upward direction from your chin towards your forehead. This will remove the tan, if any.

>Clean your face thoroughly with just cold water. Do not use soap or face wash.

 

Step 3: Exfoliate.

This is going to be a little different among all those scrubs you have seen in the internet on how to make Oatmeal scrub for sensitive skin.

This scrub that I am gonna show your now has very mild exfoliating properties, which removes dead skin cells to give softer and clear skin naturally at the comfort of home. Perfect for sensitive skin.

 

How to make Oatmeal scrub

All you need..

Finely milled Oatmeal powder
Coarsely grinded Organic Green Tea leaves
Raw Honey
Unrefined Almond Oil

Method:

Add one tablespoon of Oatmeal powder and one tablespoon of Coarsely grinded Organic Green Tea leaves into a bowl. Mix these dry ingredients well.

Add one teaspoon of Honey and one one tablespoon of Unrefined Almond oil into it and mix them well to form a scrub.

Add 10 drops of either lavender essential oil or Geranium essential oil for added fragrance and skin benefits. This step is completely optional, as I already have it in my home i am going to add it in my scrub here.

How to Use Oats for face

I am not adding any type of hard grainy textured ingredients like sugar, salt or coffee in this scrub. As your skin is already sensitive, you should avoid using any type of harsh abrasion scrubs from your skin care routine.

Using natural powder-y textured ingredients to scrub your face will gently remove the dead skin from your face without causing any harm.
