Ever since I ditched using normal facial cleansers and soaps that contains surfocants, my skin felt better and also released that my skin is not oily any more.
The more and more you clean your face and wash your face with some fancy cleansers, the more and more your are stripping away the natural oils from your skin, which in turn your skin produces more and more oil to balance moisture on your face. Now you got the reason behind your why there is “oiliness on your face all the day”.
Its just a fad to believe that you need foaming cleansers or soaps to was your face. Nah..! Not at all..!
In my Just water Cleansing routine, I mentioned how I cured my acne and oily skin for ever. If the ingredients are in raw form, you can blend them to make a fine powder out of each ingredient. Sorry, that I am not gonna show you how to grind 😀
Ratios & Hygiene
This recipe will yield around 25-30 gms. This will last for more than 5 months if you are using not more than thrice a months like me.
I will recommend you not to stock up more than this amount as there are no preservatives. Also keep in mind that you should never allow water to get into this cleanser, failing so will encourage bacteria growth.
Always transfer a tea spoon of cleanser into a small bowl or plate and use. Never put into wet hands into the container.
Although there are no preservatives used, this can be used not more than 6 months if stored in a dry and cool place.
While using organic cleansers like these which do not have preservatives, hygiene and the way you store plays a big role.
Nothing is much complicated, Just keep it in a dry place away from water. That’s all the game is.
- In a Sterilized steel/ glass bowl, put 5 tablespoons of green gram powder in it.
- Now add 3 tablespoons of Rice Floor in it and 2 tablespoons of Almond powder.
- Add 1 and 1/2 tablespoon of green tea leaves in it. You can also grind them to a fine powder if you do not mind getting your sink dirty. In that case just add 1 tablespoon of green tea powder.
- Add 1 teaspoon of Lemon peel powder in it. This acts as a mild exfoliating agent in this DIY facial cleanser. If you have sensitive skin and want to stay away from any granules type scrubbing in your cleansers, you can skip this step. No harm.
- Mix them well using a whisk.
- Now add 10 drops of lavender essential oil in the mixture of those powders and mix them well with the whisk until there are no lumps formed.
Store this DIY Facial cleanser in a clean air tight jar and keep it in a dry place away from sunlight.
How to use?
Take a teaspoon of this amazing DIY facial cleanser that you have just made into a clean small bowl or plate. Pour few drops of rose water to form a paste.
Apply it all over your face and gently…gently scrub your face in circular motions and in upward direction. After two minutes, wash off with cold water.
You can even wait for more 5 minutes till it dries for a more “mask-effect”.
Apply Aloe Vera gel or any plant based oil (non comedogenic) for moisturizing the skin.
See, as simple as that. Will you try ? Let me know know if you are trying this today… Comment for any clarifications.
Have a happy skin.. 🙂
