After Wax Care to Cure Redness, Rashes & Bumps on Hands and Legs
Waxing is a tough job to be get done. Isn’t it? Specifically the redness and bumpy skin after the waxing section is not all we want to be surprised with. But with simple home made tricks and remedies you can actually reduce the redness on the skin. So here are some of the handy After Wax Care to Cure Redness and itchiness.
Immediately after waxing..
Your skin is sensitive after waxing. If your skin experiences any red, bumpy rashes immediately after waxing, then it needs something that can calm and soothe the redness instantly.
Aloe Vera is a great savior and a quick fix at this point of time. If you are running out of time and want to attend any party or meeting immediately after you are done with waxing, then apply some cooling Aloe Vera gel on the waxed area of your skin.
Always keep a small tub of Aloe Vera gel in your hand bag. I personally prefer to use This Rustic Art Orange Cinnamon Aloe Vera gel as it is very cooling to the skin and also Organic.
If you have little more time, you can go on with the second step below and then followed by applying Aloe Vera for more effective results.
Wash with Cold water..
The remains of Wax left on your skin after the Waxing section makes your skin more sensitive and easily prone to redness and bumps on the skin’s tissue.
One of the simplest way to reduce itchiness and redness on your skin after waxing is to wash it with Cold water. Or you can also dip a Clean wash cloth in a small tub of Ice cold water and wring it out. Now drape the wash cloth on your hands or legs covering each area for 2 minutes.
Apply some Aloe Vera gel moisturizer followed with a sunscreen before stepping out.
Rub Cucumber Slices..
The flesh of the cucumber is mostly water, but also contains ascorbic acid (vitamin C) and caffeic acid, both of which help soothe skin irritations and reduce swelling–these acids prevent water retention, which may explain why cucumbers applied topically are often helpful for swollen eyes, burns and dermatitis.
So this makes the perfect ingredient to calm down red bumpy skin after waxing.
Extract a cup of fresh Cucumber water and using a cotton pad clean the waxed area of your skin. Wash off with Cold water after 5 minutes. You can also rub few slices od cucumber on to your skin for a quick fix.
Oils that soothe the irritated Skin..
Natural, Organic Plant based Oils works wonders for skin. Some of the oils like Avocado oil, Coconut oil and Almond oil will soothe the irritated skin and moisture it from within. Wondering how to use them after waxing? Well, you can do it two ways.
Before 30 minutes of taking the shower: Apply a small amount of either coconut oil or Almond oil on to your hands and legs and massage gently giving small stokes in upward direction.
After the shower: To keep your skin hydrated after the moisture is lost in the hot showers, apply a small amount of Avocado oil on your hands and legs.
Oats to heal the redness and bumps…
Oats have many skin moisturizing properties that makes the skin’s surface so soft and smooth to touch. Oats have natural saponin content (that greasy lubricant kind texture) which makes an excellent choice to wash your face with it too.
Oats are once such grain that can be used by all skin types. It doesn’t dry, strip away the natural oil or inst overpowering. So it makes a perfect ingredient for dry, oily and sensitive skin respectively.
Now, take a tablespoon of Powdered Oats into a bowl or into your hand.
Add Rose water or normal water to the Oats and mix them well to form a paste.
Apply this paste all over your Hands/ Legs and gently massage as if you are washing it.
Be gentle and smooth.
After two minutes, wash off with normal cold water and pat dry.
Avoid Harsh Scrubbing at this stage…
I have seen many People suggesting to scrub the area after I get my waxing done because it is said to reduce ingrown hair. I completely cant agree on this point as the ingrown hair neither decreases because of scrubbing nor doing it immediately after the waxing is done will help.
In fact scrubbing your skin after waxing makes it more sensitive and may also abrade your skin causing minor cuts which may leave you long lasting scars and dark spots.
So avoid harsh scrubbing on the same day you get your waxing done. Instead try a Oats and Turmeric Pack to moisturize and soften your skin.
