1. Peppermint essential oil

Peppermint essential oil has a cooling menthol effect which reduces the inflammation around the acne and makes it look less red and bump-y. Some of the popular benefits of peppermint essential oil for acne are:

  • It reduces and controls the excess oil production of skin.
  • The best anti inflammatory essential oil.
  • Kills and reduces the growth of bacteria on skin that feeds on sebum.
  • Its cooling menthol properties calms the affected area and reduces redness and pain.

When I first tried peppermint essential oil by accident, i discovered that it works way more effective than the usual tea tree essential oil as an acne spot treatment for me.

The best part of the peppermint essential oil is, as soon as it is applied on the effected area it works like magic. It reduces the swelling or inflammation and makes the skin look less vulnerable the other day.

So that is the reason I am left with very few dark spots that are left by acne. It diminishes the size of the pimple without actually leaving dark spots on your face unlike other tropical acne treatments. This is how it works for me.

I was so amazed to see how the pimple was almost dead by morning. The swelling reduced and the pimple bump was reduced to far too noticeable.

What I liked the most was, It didn’t even left a mark unlike other spot treatments for acne. It was like there was no pimple ever emerged at that place. No sign at all.

Tea Tree essential oil as Acne spot Treatment is on hype for many days, and its for good.

Tea Tree essential oil is one of top rated essential oil for acne and blemish treatments. It has rare antibacterial and antiseptic properties that opens up the pores and kills the acne causing bacteria. When applied tropically, it reduces the swelling around the pimple and thus diminishes pimple overnight.

This is the reason it is used in many commercial skin and acne care products too.

3. Clove essential oil

Clove oil is recognized as a magic solution to bank on.

Clove is filled with antibacterial and antiseptic properties. Clove oil contains a compound called as eugenol that helps in treating acne. It fights the acne bacteria and helps in reducing swelling and redness.

Eugenol in Clove essential oil infiltrates deep into the skin, helps in destroying the acne bacteria and also relieves from any redness or swelling on the skin. However, it is always advised that you should use it in advised diluted way to enjoy maximum benefits.

Though clove essential oil is super powerful to treat acne, it should only be used as an emergency solution. The most important rule when you are using clove oil is to never use it alone. It is very strong in nature and can cause burning sensation to your skin and in some cases aggravate the situation also.

Also, never use clove essential oil if you have sensitive skin.

How to use essential oils as Acne spot treatment:

Note: Essential oils are highly concentrated oils and unlike regular carrier oils, they must be diluted for tropical application on skin and hair. If you are trying essential oil for the first time, do not use it directly on your skin without a patch test. Do a patch test using the instructions given on your essential oil bottle and wait for 24hrs to see if it reacts normal to your skin or not.

Do not use any essential oil products in the day time under sun. It is safe to use essential oils only in the night time. Some essential oils like sweet orange and lemon essential oils are photosensitive and can react badly when your skin is exposed to sun after application.

Note this Before buying any essential oil : Use only High quality, Organic and steam distilled essential oils to get all the therapeutic benefits out of the oil. Low grade essential oils goes under 2-3 filtration after which almost all the goodness of the oil is lost. Trust brands with Organic certifications and look for one, before making a purchase.
